The 65th edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) has officially commenced in Bulawayo, transforming the city into a vibrant hub of commerce and innovation. Running from April 21 to 26, this year’s fair is themed “Industrialisation: Crafting an Integrated Economic Landscape,” underscoring Zimbabwe’s commitment to economic revival and industrial growth.
A Global Confluence of Trade and Innovation
ZITF 2025 has attracted a remarkable 596 exhibitors, including 24 foreign participants from 17 countries, highlighting the event’s international appeal. The fair is hosted at the newly upgraded Zimbabwe International Conference and Exhibition Smart City (ZICES) in Bulawayo, offering state-of-the-art facilities for exhibitors and visitors alike.
Foreign exhibitors have expressed keen interest in forging business partnerships and expanding trade relations, signaling confidence in Zimbabwe’s market potential .
Defying Disruption: Business as Usual Amid Calls for Shutdown
Despite calls for a nationwide stay-away protest by former ZANU PF Central Committee member Blessed Geza, the fair has proceeded without disruption. Geza’s appeal for a shutdown on April 22 and 23 was largely ignored, with no visible signs of protest affecting the event . The high turnout and enthusiastic participation underscore the resilience and determination of Zimbabwe’s business community.
