Gutu Murder-Suicide Shocks Community as Filabusi Manhunt Intensifies

In a tragic turn of events, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) are investigating a suspected murder-suicide in Gutu, Masvingo Province. On January 2, 2025, in Utete Village, Chitsa, the lifeless body of 40-year-old Raramai Dhewa was discovered in a kitchen hut, bearing multiple injuries. A blood-stained log was found at the scene, indicating a violent assault.

Subsequently, her husband, 46-year-old Fungai Chitsale, was found hanging from a roof truss in their two-bedroomed house, an apparent suicide. The ZRP has launched a comprehensive investigation to unravel the circumstances leading to these deaths.

In a separate incident in Filabusi, Matabeleland South Province, police are seeking six suspects in connection with the murder of 29-year-old Talent Hlongwane. The suspects—identified as Zenzo Moyo (32), Ayanda Moyo (30), Nqobizita Moyo (34), Senly Moyo (29), Paul Ndlovu (36), and Donald Sibanda (30)—allegedly attacked Hlongwane with spears, axes, and machetes on January 3, 2025, in Village 16B, Nkankezi, accusing him of being a bully.

The ZRP is appealing to the public for any information that could lead to the apprehension of these suspects. Community members are urged to report any relevant details to the nearest police station to aid in the ongoing investigations.
