Bulawayo Police Recover Stolen Safe with Over US$10,000; Suspects at Large

In a swift response to a daring burglary, Bulawayo police have recovered a Chubb safe containing US$10,569, stolen from a company in Kelvin West on the night of January 6, 2025.
Break-In and Theft Details
The perpetrators gained entry by smashing a windowpane and bending back the burglar bars of the company’s cash office. They then loaded the heavy safe onto a Jack trolley and fled the scene, leaving behind a trail of trolley marks.
Recovery of the Safe
On January 7, following the trolley marks, police tracked the suspects’ path to a stream bank near a beer garden in Tshabalala suburb. There, they found the abandoned safe with the cash still inside. The Jack trolley used in the heist was not recovered.

Despite the recovery of the safe and the cash, the suspects remain unidentified and at large. Police have launched an investigation into the unlawful entry and theft, urging anyone with information to come forward.
