Midlands Provincial Affairs Minister Owen Ncube Bereaved as Mother Passes Away

Kwekwe, Zimbabwe – Midlands Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister, Honourable Owen Ncube, is mourning the loss of his mother, Gogo Edith Mazivisa Ncube, who passed away on December 25, 2024, at the age of 77.

Gogo Ncube succumbed after a prolonged battle with diabetes and hypertension.
She was known for her unwavering commitment to her family and her active participation in community affairs.
First Lady’s Tribute
First Lady Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa paid her respects at the Ncube residence in Kwekwe, highlighting Gogo Ncube’s significant influence on her own political journey. Dr. Mnangagwa remarked, “We are here to celebrate a life well lived and to thank Gogo personally for all the teachings she imparted to me. She was a disciplinarian to us when we erred.”
Political Figures Extend Condolences
The funeral was attended by several senior ZANU-PF officials, including National Political Commissar Munyaradzi Machacha, who described Gogo Ncube as a “unifier” and a “patriot.”
Minister of Tourism Barbara Rwodzi and Midlands Provincial Chairlady Tsitsi Zhou were also present to offer their condolences.
