President Emmerson Mnangagwa addressed a large gathering, highlighting the nation’s resilience and progress amid challenges. The event was graced by dignitaries, including the First Lady, Vice President Dr. Constantino Chiwenga, Cabinet Ministers, service chiefs, and heads of diplomatic missions.

Advancing Towards Vision 2030

President Mnangagwa emphasized Zimbabwe’s commitment to becoming an upper-middle-income society by 2030, despite facing sanctions, climate change-induced setbacks, and global economic shocks. Empowering Farmers Through Land Reform

A significant milestone in land reform was achieved with the issuance of over 360,000 title deeds to A1 farmers and 23,500 to A2 farmers. This initiative aims to provide farmers with security of tenure, enabling them to use their land as collateral for loans, thereby enhancing agricultural productivity.

Economic Growth Amid Challenges

The President noted positive trends in Zimbabwe’s economy, with the mining sector expected to grow by 5.6% in 2025, driven by increased output in gold, platinum, and diamonds. The manufacturing sector is also experiencing growth, with capacity utilization reaching 70%, and locally manufactured products occupying 80% of shelf space in domestic retail supermarkets.

Community Engagement and Employment

The Independence Day preparations in Gokwe-Nembudziya created approximately 600 jobs, reflecting the government’s commitment to community development and employment creation.

Looking Ahead

As Zimbabwe celebrates 45 years of independence, the nation is poised for a brighter future. With a focus on devolution and development, the government continues to work towards achieving Vision 2030, aiming to unlock the country’s full potential and improve the quality of life for all citizens.
